What was it like before you brought in Victory?

We were in a very tough spot as a company - we were at an inflection point with our platform. We were discovering that our technological foundation and architecture were indicative of future disaster. We knew we had to do something and bring in experienced help from the outside, but we experienced some friction with our engineering team.

It really seemed like the walls were about to fall down around us, and fires were blazing out of control. This was all within weeks of the first contact we had with Victory.

What problem(s) were you trying to solve by bringing us in?

We needed to completely re-platform our technology, create systems that would keep a positive and effective office environment, and create a uniform experience across all platforms for our service. We needed help with leadership on both the technological and management front, and needed to implement systems to keep us organized and prevent some of the issues under our control that detracted from thriving internal culture we aim to create.

What made us stand out from other options or avenues you could have pursued?

We've been burned by contractors in the past that overrepresented their capabilities. As such, we were guarded going into this relationship - the first thing that stood out was Victory telling us things we didn't want to hear, especially as it related to the truth of our situation. It's better to face a hard truth than to bury your head in the sand and pretend like things are perfect.

Once we stared going to work and fixing the massive pile of broken things, we noticed measurable benefits to our business. Everything was transparent, and Victory had a contractor working in our physical office - this contractor demonstrated true expertise, and was instrumental in the rebuilding process, and also in helping retain the staff we have today.

It's a night and day difference on both the technological end, and general cohesiveness and morale in the office. Our rate of release for new features is faster than we ever could have imagined, and the features we're putting out have far fewer bugs and are in general of a much higher quality than the past when we had a much larger team.

Were there any obstacles that almost prevented you from working with us? If so, what were those?

The main obstacle was the previous negative experience working with technology contractors, of course Victory charges a premium, but for us what helped make the decision easier that the rates were based hourly and we could terminate the contract if we felt we weren't getting value. Victory was very transparent and clearly demonstrated value and return every step of the way.

What made you happiest about working with our company?

We built true trust with Victory - any time we needed help after hours or even during vacation time Victory was there to help out, and make sure that we were doing the best job possible of serving our customers. It's obvious that Victory takes pride in their craft, and holds themselves to a higher standard than the vast majority of other companies we've encountered over the years. Victory charges top dollar, but it's safe to say they earn every penny - if our needs ever align with Victory's offerings in the future, we would be happy to work with them again.

What have you been able to achieve since bringing us in?

We have been upgrading our service and releasing features faster than ever before, and we accomplish more at a higher quality with a team that's half the size as well! Our technology is much more stable, and we're proudly carrying the flag of PWA technology into the future!

What exceeded your expectations since working with us?

The genuine amount of care taken from Victory in seeing us succeed as a company - many outside shops just care about fulfilling minimum requirements to cash in on the relationship, but Victory went out of their way to ensure that we were doing the things we needed for long-term success. We really built great rapport with the Victory contractors we worked with, even to the point where we were recommending books and podcasts for each other to listen to that we thought would be helpful in each other's journeys!

What's the main reason you recommend Victory?

I'll use a nerd reference: Victory is like the "Golden Company" in Game of Thrones, they'll always fulfill their contracts with the highest quality work, and are the best technological contractors that money can buy. It's not cheap to work with Victory, but in this case - you actually GET what you pay for.
